The Cross
The Celtic Cross forms the foundation of the badge. Inspired by Sarsfield’s cross, it is re-drawn with softened geometry and rounded edges, giving it a contemporary presence without losing its authority.

It stands as a symbol of strength and grounding, recognisable, timeless, and unmistakably Irish.

The Core
At the heart of the cross sits a Celtic Knot inspired by St. Paul’s. But this knot carries more than one story. It is also a Dara Knot, translating to ‘Doire’, meaning oak. A reference to Derrytrasna’s Crossed Oak.

Two identities, two legacies, brought together at the centre. This is where the badge finds its meaning. Unity isn’t added - it’s embedded.

The Hound
The twin hounds reference the legend of Setanta, drawing directly from Irish mythology. Rather than existing as separate symbols, they are woven into the Celtic structure itself. They represent loyalty, guardianship and strength bound together, not opposed. Myth becomes form.
