ABOUT
Every face tells a story of a life lived for better or worse.
Well – not in this case. This series of portraits has been created as part of an exploration into the major effects of an ageing population and the challenges countries face to ensure that their health and social care systems are ready to make the most of this demographic shift.
The World Health Organization predicts that by 2030, 1 in 6 people in the world will be aged 60 years or over. At this time the share of the population aged 60 years and over will increase from 1 billion in 2020 to 1.4 billion. By 2050, the world’s population of people aged 60 years and older will double (2.1 billion). The number of persons aged 80 years or older is expected to triple between 2020 and 2050 to reach 426 million.
The images will form part of a global awareness campaign prompting people to think forward and picture themselves as part of the ageing population, 20, 30, 40 years from now.
As our populations continue to live longer lives, science and healthcare companies are looking to address the challenges that come with that - cancer, dementia, and a rise in the incidence of falls, obesity, diabetes and demands on social care. It’s a challenge that will also impact the insurance and pensions industry.
Portraits of nobody uses AI and artistic interpretation to imagine the faces of those who will be the pensioners of tomorrow. Each image represents a person who is currently young, healthy, and living their life.
The images will be rolled out as part of an omni-channel campaign strategy to start raising awareness for the future.
