This is the main promo used for the Electro-Voice EVERSE 8 speaker.
The Inside Story were asked to create a video that promoted the EVERSE 8 as a portable powered solution for buskers. The video needed to cover all of the features of the portable system in an easy-to-understand way that would show musicians and solo performers exactly how EVERSE 8 could help them. As a brand, Electro-Voice is known as a producer of high-quality, large-scale pro audio systems, so it was important to show that this same festival sound system quality was within reach of consumer musicians.
Developing the concept further, John wanted to bring the viewer into the experience of a busker’s day and how the speaker was an intrinsic part of their setup. Extreme camera closeups and movement matching would show a connection between the speaker and the busker. Through the visual cues John would be able to show the speaker and performer perfectly in lockstep.
Filmed with finger style guitarist, Sean de Burca in Tunbridge Wells, It was designed to give a day in the life of a busker using the powered speaker as he travels from one location to the next. All he ever needs is his guitar and the speaker.

Typically, professional audio system manufacturers can focus purely on the ‘black box’ that makes noise. We however, focused the camera on the relationship between guitarist and speaker, and how that allowed the guitarist to sound their best. Everything you see in the video is real and he reacted in the same way that musicians tend to when they have a speaker like EVERSE 8 to play through. The genuine connection he had with the speaker ensured that we had hours of superb material to pick from to create the right video that told the story our client needed it to.

The client was extremely happy with the resulting video which led the online campaign and is now being used at trade shows and client events. Photos taken at the same time have been used in key marketing material sent to retailers and media. Sean playing through the EVERSE 8 can now be seen everywhere from music shop display stands to trade show booths.
