“Stand Alone Trees”
This mountain desert landscape—is an arid and ancient place, it’s forlorn and forsaken, it’s dry, very dry, and it’s quiet, ominously quiet! A respecter or no man or his 4x4 vehicle, this vast, harsh and sometimes unforgiving terrain is nevertheless a ready canvas, an artist's paradise a travellers intrigue! It's one of those places one cannot 'just' visit once and never to return—if you are serious about capturing pre-historic intrigue, a scorched serenity, best you be on the lookout for solitary guardians who for hundreds of years keep watch over an impossible horizon. These sentry-like "Stand Alone Trees" beckon painters, poets and other photographers into her waterless beyond to tarry awhile, and take it all in under the watchful eye of sentinels clad in bark.
