About me

Dear Sir/ Madam,

My name is Adam Rayner; I am applying for the position of Digital Producer.

This is a role that excites me greatly; exhaustingly enthusiastic is perhaps the best way to describe my passion the digital wave of entertainment. I am a huge advocate of the digital revolution and a stern supporter of new age media and ways of enjoying classic forms. This role would provide me with an avenue for my unbridled enthusiasm to push boundaries and captivate audiences, while allowing me to utilise my Master's degree and four years' experience of writing for a multi-national online culture blog.

At Whatculture I started as a reviewer and film blogger and was recognised for my passion and enthusiasm and honoured to be entrusted with the big releases. I petitioned to expand the section and was soon attending film premiers, award ceremonies and launch events which I also filmed and presented to camera, then edited and uploaded this footage.

When the company expanded in 2011 to cover more areas of culture than film and television, my drive, innovation and ability to attract new business was recognised and I was charged with launching a food and drink section. We launched with a Top 10 American restaurants in London, which attracted a great buzz. I then acted as editor for this section until June 2014.

I am very proud of the fact I have been able to juggle my whatculture responsibilities with my full-time position of channel coordination at one of the world's leading broadcasters. At Discovery, I am part of a team of over thirty people working in a fast paced, reactive office, covering every aspect of the delivery of a TV program from inception to transmission.

My proudest achievement at Discovery has been my role in the launch of TLC; it was the largest European launch the company has ever had, with a record amount of unique content premiering in the launch month. I played an integral role, coordinating the program management side, which meant liaising with nine other departments on a daily basis to ensure all content was legally cleared, ingested, scheduled and then edited to Discovery's specifications. The channel launched on time and now garners twice the audience of MTV.

Please find attached my CV, which details my qualifications, skills and experience in greater detail. I hope this finds you well and you consider me favourable for interview.

Yours sincerely,

Adam Rayner
