A Graphic Novel Animation explores the groundbreaking life and legacy of the Catholic priest, social reformer, and political figure Franz Hitze, using a unique blend of graphic novel storytelling and animation. Children, women, and men – throughout the nineteenth century, all family members were regularly required to labor. They worked in factories for minimal pay, up to 12 hours every day. There was no Occupational Safety. If the primary earner died due to disease or prematurely, the remainder of the family would suffer greatly. Franz Hitze, born in 1851 in Westfälisch Olpe, was a Catholic philosopher and politician who worked hard to solve the problems caused by industrialization.
