ABOUT

This was a self directed brief for a university project. I wanted to create a mailer that would raise awareness of the dying bee population and also give people seeds to plant, which would grow flowers beneficial to bees. I wanted the design to be as engaging as possible, so I created an interactive element. The container consists of two tubes, with a set of tabs tucked underneath the 'skin'. When the containers are rotated in opposite directions the tabs move out and reveal an image of bees, as the container is rotated further the tabs flip over to reveal an image of wildflowers. This subtly suggests that Great Britain needs more wildflowers to help the bee population. The seeds themselves are embedded in specialty paper that has 'plant me' printed on to it. This makes it slightly more different than just a packet of seeds and therefor slightly more special.
