The brief asked for a re-usable container, that would hold 12 items essential to attending a festival. I created a hard shelled back pack that could be folded down and stored flat. It had to be made from plastic, so I used sheets of 700 MIC frosted plastic, which proved to be sturdy enough to hold it's shape but pliable enough to give it graceful curves. The best part about this design is that it is made from a single net, utilising different folds and cuts along the spine it creates a shell. The most important factor when I designed this product is that it had to be as visually appealing as possible, as it was for a festival. So after considerable testing of the graphics, I decided to use iridescent blue/green paint that glittered gold in the sunshine and keep the graphics down to a single logo at the base. This also meant that it was visually uncluttered, and allowed the architecture of the design to really stand out. This was without a doubt, my absolute favorite project that I worked on while at university.
