Taxi Studio Bristol

ABOUT

Taxi Studio founder and creative partner Spencer Buck harboured a dark desire to give Bristol’s iconic Suspension
Bridge its own troll. When the opportunity arose to collaborate with like-minded mischief makers, we decided to stage
a Halloween spectacular to put us on the map.

Working with digital experts Play Nicely, we created a dramatic 3D animation to be projected three hundred metres across the Avon Gorge. As the witching hour struck on October 31 2012, unsuspecting locals watched the terrifying story unfold.

Opening with a realistic-looking scene depicting two graffiti artists ‘redecorating’ Brunel’s bridge (a nod to our city’s street art heritage), a thirty-foot troll burst from the brickwork, clobbering the troublemakers before escaping into the darkness below.

The press were thrilled, Twitter was ablaze and Bristol got the Halloween it deserved. The stunt went viral, achieving 10,000 YouTube views in under 24 hours and another 250,000 via local news coverage.

The police turned up but chose not to press charges, and our reputation for Fearless Creativity earned another stripe.
