1) Concept sketches
With this project I wanted to create a logo to represent a plumbing services business. While creating the sketches, it was important to decide whether the logo should be abstract or use more “literal” plumbing related imagery.

2) Testing out the first version
The first idea I fully developed was centred around vector drawings of plumbing instruments. I have tested out different colour combinations and whether or not to fill in certain parts to conclude that the gear and the pipe being represented by line drawing works best.

3) Developing the abstract logo
I also wanted to explore a more abstract version to represent the brand in a cleaner and simpler way. The idea behind the design was for the negative space to form a letter “F” (as highlighted in red in the image with sketches), the first letter in both parts of the company’s name. The central part of the logo might also be used as a logomark.
