ABOUT

RHEINISCHES LANDESMUSEUM | TRIER (DE) | 2010

Walk-in media theatre. Approximately 50 monumental Roman gravestones and wall reliefs from Trier are staged in a completely novel form at the state museum Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Trier, Germany. Elements from cinema, theatre, animated cartoons and radio plays are applied using state-of-the-art technology to transform the silent museum room into an immersive, narrative and media-enhanced spatial theatre. Inspired by the earliest forms of Roman comedy, the centuries-old, authentic, original exhibits are integrated in an emotional a 360° audio-visual mapping and revived through images, spoken word and sounds. For 45 minutes, the visitors are immersed into a poetic play that is a fusion of audio play and visual world.
