ABOUT

Smart Wins Technologies is a startup which is designing and launching an innovative new project for monitoring water pipes and detecting leaks or other issues.

I joined the four-person team to direct the design needs for the company before and during the launch of the ‘Waterminator’. The fundamental task was to design a platform which would support their physical product. I facilitated workshops to plan the user journeys that would exist in this platform. The product, 'Waterminator', is a sensor that can detect issues in water pipes within private homes. Dependant on the issue, the user would have to complete a series of actions online to prevent further damage. I had to plan out how each scenario's actions could be connected to create multiple clear user flows.
I facilitated workshops and implemented a combination of familiar and new design thinking methods to map out the user journey. As a team, we built smooth user flows for each scenario which meant I could start creating the wireframes. I created wireframe storyboards for each interaction from creating an account to notifying the plumber once a leak has been detected. I designed illustrations to accompany any instructions and questions to clarify to the user the objectives as well as making the experience more delightful and engaging.
