ABOUT

After having the privilege of seeing a number of Socorro Doves (sadly extinct in the wild) at Birdworld (Hampshire) in person last year, I was inspired to try to capture their glorious plumage through illustration. I adore pigeons and doves in general, but getting to see Socorro Doves was a dream come true.

I worked directly off of the many photos I took, as whilst most columbidae have a similar body shape, the Socorro Doves beautiful rusty colouration if fairly unique to the family.
