ABOUT

Fold is a compact foldable scooter designed for short-distance urban commuting in increasingly dense cities. Developed around the idea of lightweight and adaptable mobility, the scooter addresses the growing need for portable transportation that seamlessly integrates with public transit and pedestrian movement. The design focuses on reducing the physical and spatial burden of conventional scooters by creating a highly compact form that can be folded, carried by hand, stored beneath seating, or fit within a large backpack during transit.

The product emphasizes minimal construction and localized manufacturability through the extensive use of 3D-printed structural components. By simplifying the mechanical architecture and reducing the number of unique parts, the design explores a more accessible and modular approach to personal mobility production. The scooter utilizes a compact wheel system, lightweight frame geometry, and telescopic folding stem to optimize portability while maintaining stability for short urban journeys.

Rather than positioning itself as a high-performance vehicle, Fold is designed as an extension of everyday commuter behavior — bridging the “last-mile” gap between public infrastructure and personal movement. The project proposes a future where mobility devices become more adaptable, repairable, and spatially conscious within crowded urban environments.
