About me
I am an experienced footwear designer of Senior Designer/Design Manager level, who has been working on a full-time freelance basis for both U.K. & internationally based clients, producing seasonal womens/mens/kids fashion footwear ranges for the international market.
With over 20 years experience in the UK footwear sector, working for a number of different UK suppliers and brands over the years; I have extensive knowledge of trend and colour prediction & designing focused and commercial ranges of footwear.
I have worked for a number of UK & international companies, and I am a confident self starter as well as team player. I have held a Design Managerial position twice, once running two offices simultaneously in London and Manchester with a team of nine across these two locations. I take pride in being skilled and confident at guiding and mentoring junior and mid-level designers to help them achieve their maximum potential.
I am adept and confident at sourcing both materials and trims within the Far East and Europe, to produce trend led designs from price conscious basic ranges through to luxury branded product and I have a particular interest in sourcing eco-friendly and sustainable materials, and exploring new developments as they occur in this field.
I have always had a great personal interest in colour theory and its effect on mood and consumer behaviour, and how to create beautiful, thoughtful and impactful palettes for footwear. This attention to detail is what has always driven me to design aesthetically beautiful and commercially successful ranges and encourage others under my guidance to do the same.
