Syncsmith continues its disruptive path by signing pioneering recording label Stroboscopic Artefacts.

Syncsmith in recent months has been on an aggressive acquisition streak signing hype-laden labels such as Gqom Oh!, NAAFI and Infinite Machine. They now consolidate 2017 with an intelligent onboarding of forward thinking Berlin based label Stroboscopic Artefacts.

Founded by Luca Mortellaro (Lucy) in September 2009 and based in Berlin, Stroboscopic Artefacts represents ground-breaking artists and producers including RRose, Kangding Ray, Lady Starlight, Lakker, Perc, Xhin, James Ruskin, Dadub to name a few.

The label demonstrates an incessant exploratory nature that transcends any self-limiting expectations of genres or cliques. Lucy states “Stroboscopic Artefacts endures not because we are concerned with the defensive act of ‘surviving,’ but because we are consumed with determination to live a growth-oriented life and to accompany others in their personal quests towards the same”.

From an anamorphic and immersive perspective the label provides expansive guttural compositions and is often compared with exemplars and industry catalysts like Warp and Basic Channel. Whilst Stroboscopics’ releases certainly share some of the same sonic DNA as those imprints, it is Lucys’ forensic levels of attention to detail and commitment to development that provide a clear differentiator from its torchbearers and peers.

Syncsmith founder Gavin Mee commented “as with anyone in the industry with a keen pair of acoustic sensors, we have been attracted to Lucy’s imprint for some time, we are witnessing a much welcomed intelligent evolution in the industry and finally the recognition of more fractured sound palettes, the disruptive nature and metamorphic capability of the label provides a huge attraction and we are truly humbled to have them join us on an enduring basis".

The horticulture infused motifs that grace the center labels of Stroboscopic Artefacts records, place particular emphasis upon music as a messenger of organic evolution and although hinting at a metamorphic capability, there is an evident fixation on growth, focusing on evolution as oppose to revolution.  SA is a champion of sound as agnostic, non-orthogonal architecture that provides a welcoming accompaniment to emotional on-screen content through the romancing of spatiality and depth.
