Nicholl SemiFinalist & Optioned Screenwriter, inciting social revolution whilst making people laugh. Suzy is a maverick writer not afraid to hit hard with contemporary contentious stories, under cover of dark humour. Her eco-supernatural thriller feature Wild Camping is optioned by North 7 Media, and she has a TV pilot and a feature in development with another UK production company.
Too busy with three kids as a single mom to notice when her appendix burst, and three home births without pain relief (Ok - she had a bit of gas and air with the first one. But only a bit) Suzy has personal experience of not just life, but universal life crises.
The heartbreak of being abandoned with three kids under seven (she then turned herself into a TEDx speaker, setting up the UK's first ever Divorce Fair). The fear of societal collapse through climate change she transforms into hope for a new world order (she's a member of Extinction Rebellion and a graduate of Al Gore's Climate Reality Project). Give Suzy a disaster, and she'll turn it into a story that will make an audience laugh - and cry.
Crafting unique, off-from centre stories that transcend genre conventions including Contained Supernatural Horrors, a High Concept Comedy, and satirical TV pilots. A Stowe and Nostos alumni, Suzy's first short film earned many accolades including an Honourable Mention at the London International Film Festival; her award-nominated immersive audio drama is platformed on Audioteria; and her pilot Walking Gran won a Pilot Competition out of nearly 800 scripts platformed by The BBC Writer's Room.
Her portfolio includes screenplays and pilots for continuing episodic series that have won and been placed in numerous competitions including Nicholl, Studio Skyfire Fellowship, Monza Film Fest, Screencraft, New York City Int Screenplay Awards, and WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Lab.
Suzy lives in her garden shed - because she likes the way the moonlight beams through the skylight at night.
