‘More than Taj Mahal’ is a collection of hand woven fabrics inspired by my definition of India. For me, India is more than a place I call home. It stands for the quirky and graphic typography, the detailed hand painted walls, the architecture and its textiles and motifs. This project pays homage to the beautiful culture. My aim through this project was to integrate traditional Indian textiles with inherently smart yarns such as glow in the dark, reflective and shiny lurex to produce a collection of contemporary occasion wear fabrics. People know India for the Taj Mahal or cows on the street but, here’s showing you that there’s much more to India.
