About me
During my time at University College Falmouth, I have developed many radio skills; including driving the desk, presenting and writing news scripts for 3 minute and 5 minute bulletins. I have the ability to gather interviews on a mini disc player and edit on Cool Edit software to develop a piece for broadcast. My skills range from magazine features to investigative journalism. I also work with a team of 23 people every Monday to put a 25-minute television magazine show broadcasted to the university. For this programme, I use Panasonic cameras and Avid Editing suites to produce the work on.
Whilst at Middlesex University I have used Final Cut Pro software to complete two documentaries, using Semi Professional Sony cameras to film on. My work placement at Radio Cornwall and Somethin-Else Productions has given me the opportunity to understand how the world of radio works, and the ability to work under strict deadlines. I also worked on the University radio station, where I did a DJ slot, talking about the latest music and new artists. Doing this has allowed me to be familiar with Cool Edit, for editing my material on.
I am also an accomplished Supervisor with more than three years experience, of the preparation and delivery of good retail service. Proficient in all areas relating to the purchasing and sale of products ranging from merchandising of the shop floor to customer service skills. I am a leader in motivating and disciplining other adults into cohesive team members to assure that the department reaches its goals. I have supervised up to twelve staff on the shop floor making me a strong team leader. My recent experience in retail has allowed me to work to targets of an average of £50,000 a week and an annual turnover in the region of £2 million. In working for the largest Ted Baker concession in London, my personal characteristics, drive, motivation, good communication and confidence has given me the ability to work in a sales team to reach for the highest standards.
