WAITING FOR SUMMER (working title)
A dystopian modern fairytale thriller filmed across Europe.

Inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Snow White, and Jack and the Beanstalk, the film blends classic folklore with the intensity and momentum of modern action cinema.

Originally conceptualised as a story about a medieval English knight meeting a 19th-century American cowboy, the project later evolved into a more fantastical idea involving a tough but lovable bear embarking on an adventure alongside a noble wolf. Many of these early concepts still exist within the final film in unexpected ways.

The film features explosive interview-room drama alongside intense hacking and bomb-defusal sequences, romance, comedy, and emotional drama, as well as terrifying forest chases and classic shootouts.

It carries stylistic nods to Point Break, Predator, Lethal Weapon, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Aliens, and is inspired by a lifelong love of the work of filmmakers John Woo, James Cameron, Jackie Chan, Steven Spielberg, Francis Ford Coppola, David Lynch, and George Lucas.

The story follows Abraham, an experienced, ageing former Royal Air Force pilot turned advertising executive, whose measured approach and deep childhood love of summer are put to the ultimate test during a thrilling and terrifying interview. Running parallel is Joseph, a young, fearless ex–Navy SEAL in his twenties, whose raw, almost superhuman strength and boldness often clash with Abraham’s caution. Their contrasting styles and generational perspectives create tension, drama, and unexpected heroism — Both men do whatever it takes to protect Summer - both for very different reasons of course.
