Concept

The Women and Gender Constituency (WGC) is a UNFCCC‑recognised coalition of feminist and gender‑justice organisations working to shape climate policy. They needed a brand and website that could explain who they are, show how they work, and still feel rooted in community and care rather than institutional distance.

We centred a *Collective Roots* brand concept, sparked by a small hand‑drawn star in WGC’s existing materials. That mark became a cue for shared labour, continuity and plurality, and guided an identity that feels handmade, grounded and quietly radical.


Execution

We started with audiences and tasks: negotiators looking for policy positions, members needing tools and updates, journalists seeking quick context, and supporters wanting ways to act. The information architecture and UX were built around those journeys so people can move quickly from landing to policy briefs, resources or member actions.

In the visual language, we paired a bright palette and organic shapes with clear structure and strong hierarchy. The design softens dense content without losing clarity, using the star motif, playful forms and generous typography to keep things approachable. Calls to action and page patterns are consistent, making it easy to scan or dive deep.

To ensure the identity works beyond the site, we created campaign and communications assets that extend the system into everyday use. This keeps WGC recognisable across different channels and contexts.

Results

The new brand and website give WGC a central hub that can speak to policy actors, members and allies at once, without falling back on generic NGO visuals or guilt‑driven messaging. Information is easier to find, routes to positions and resources are more direct, and the tone feels human, confident and inclusive.

By making complex work simpler to navigate and more inviting to engage with, the platform strengthens WGC’s public voice and supports deeper, ongoing participation from their diverse community.
