About me

My design career spans some 20+ years and in that time I have gained a high degree of knowledge and experience as a professional and expert design and brand manager:- - expert practitioner in design and corporate brand management; - highly experienced and trained manager of people and teams; - builder of customer and internal business relationships; - skilled presenter of conceptual ideas, strategy and planning to the highest levels; - experienced design and print buyer - with a network of contacts; - highly capable project manager. I have led on corporate brand identity implementation projects. I currently manage a team of marketers, graphic designers and web technicians located in the Office of the Chief Executive at Central Bedfordshire Council. Both myself and my team work closely with the head of communications and the media, press and internal communications officers to coordinate corporate design and creative marketing campaigns designed to enhance organisational reputation internally and externally. I also oversee the delivery of a design and print service that provides design and print
support for internal services and directorates with their own specific business needs. My design team are key in supporting my strategic efforts to deliver innovative design and visual communications and in an efficient and cost effective way. I have recently established a new publications model for the council that includes the design and rollout of an on-line template portal system. The system enables admin staff across the council to produce branded products with minimum intervention from the corporate design team in terms of brand management. Throughout my career, I have strived to continuously improve both my professional knowledge and skill in design and corporate brand management through relevant training, development and design research and how I apply and share this knowledge and skill in my work approach to the organisations, teams and individuals I have worked with.
