Stream7 Sheffield

ABOUT

Concept

Greenbelt Festival, an annual multi-arts event held at Boughton House near Kettering, sought to enhance accessibility and sustainability by introducing a hybrid component. The goal was to enable global participation without the need for physical travel, aligning with the festival’s inclusive ethos. To achieve this, Stream7 was commissioned to design and implement the “No Fly Zone,” a new venue facilitating live streaming and virtual engagement.

Execution

Stream7 deployed a team of skilled technicians to transform the No Fly Zone tent into a state-of-the-art hybrid venue. Key aspects of the execution included:
- Installation of high-speed broadband and advanced audiovisual systems to support seamless live streaming and virtual participation.
- Integration of remote presenters and performers, allowing international guests to contribute in real-time.
- Ensuring high-quality experiences for both in-person and virtual attendees, with clear visuals and audio.

This setup enabled a seamless connection between the physical and virtual realms, allowing performances and interactions to transcend geographical limitations.

Results

Despite facing severe weather conditions during the festival, Stream7’s robust setup ensured uninterrupted hybrid experiences for all participants. The No Fly Zone became a hub of innovation, demonstrating how technology can bridge physical distances and foster inclusivity. By facilitating virtual attendance, the initiative also contributed to reducing the festival’s carbon footprint, setting a precedent for sustainable event practices.
