Concept

To commemorate Christian Aid’s 80th anniversary, the Changemakers Conference 2025 aimed to unite supporters, campaigners, and faith leaders through a hybrid event. The goal was to reflect on the organization’s legacy and inspire future action. The event featured live sessions from St John’s Waterloo in London, complemented by regional watch parties and online participation, ensuring broad accessibility and engagement. 


Execution

Stream7 was entrusted with delivering a seamless hybrid experience, encompassing event management, production, and live streaming. Operating within the historic and active church setting of St John’s Waterloo presented unique challenges: 
- Silent and Seamless Production: The team conducted operations in near silence during ongoing services, meticulously planning setups to respect the sanctity of the space. 
- Creative Equipment Placement: Traditional methods like taping down cables were not permitted. Stream7 devised alternative solutions to secure and route equipment safely without impacting the venue. 
- Strategic Camera Positioning: Optimal angles were identified to capture speakers and panel discussions while maintaining a low profile. 
- Discreet Technical Operation: Technicians operated remotely where possible, ensuring smooth live streaming without interfering with the event’s flow. 

These strategies ensured high-quality streaming and audience engagement without disrupting the venue’s operations. 


Results
- Hybrid Attendance: The conference successfully engaged 100 in-person attendees and approximately 600 online participants via Christian Aid’s YouTube channel. 
- Global Reach: The hybrid format extended the event’s accessibility, allowing supporters worldwide to participate and engage with the content. 
- Client Satisfaction: Christian Aid praised Stream7’s professionalism and the quality of the live streaming, noting the team’s contribution to the event’s overall success.
