From the outset of our relationship with Brittains we were confronted with a conundrum: as a distilled spirit that is non-region-specific, why should premium vodka always be synonymous with places like Russia and Sweden? And why not Britain too? We decided it was an oversight that was worthy of further investigation - and so the story began.

Brittains, our brief made clear, is an equivocally premium product, five-times distilled for purity. So, no clichéd images of Union Jacks; no London buses; and no Britannia with her shield and trident. Instead, the positioning we identified tapped directly into the kind of British eccentricity exemplified by idiosyncrasies such as Alice in Wonderland. And the image we settled on was inspired by the flamingoes which once roamed the grounds of Sprotborough Hall, which is where the Brittains distillery today stands. Following much honing, our award-winning design was soon to be found on all manner of shelves, including those of that jewel of British retailing, Fortnum & Mason.
