Collabnow is the result of a thorough investigative research process into the role of the graphic design in the music industry, following on from my dissertation. Using this extensive body of work and the survey results, the investigation explores the importance of collaboration between two creative arts subject areas; music and graphic design. Through personal collaboration opportunities on the course thus far as well current research unearthed, it was clear there were many benefits to be had with working with other students on different creative art subjects.

However, recent research indicated that collaboration across different subject areas within Colleges and Universities was diminishing. Collabnow was therefore created to help students connect and work with other like-minded creative individuals to produce high-quality work as well as the opportunity to build contacts and relationships. There are many platforms out there for professional creatives but there is nothing out there currently to encourage students during their studies to work together collaboratively. This mobile application goes further than just linking music and graphic design but fashion, fine art and photography and it was very much based on the set up at the Colchester School of Art.
