Hello Creative Republic,

I'm writing in response to a vacancy post I recently saw on Creative Pool calling for a Graphic Designer with your studio in London. I would love to apply for this post as I believe this is an ideal job for an aspiring graphic designer such as myself. Here's a bit more about where I come from and why I think that I'd fit in very well in your space..

My experience within graphic design goes back around 6 years when I was studying graphic design and simultaneously working as a graphic design intern within a branding agency. Work during this time involved designing for web, branding and stationery design and advertising done to extremely short deadlines, working overtime if necessary and presenting work which lived up to and exceeded the customers' demands. Later in my career I also interned as an in-house designer at a national museum agency where I was eventually taken on board as a full time graphic designer for 3 years. Amongst the many things I learned during this period were working within a brand's identity restrictions, exhibition design, experience with designing in-house stationery such as brochures and presentations and collaborating/communicating with other non-design staff. More recently, I have studied and graduated with a degree in Illustration, a course in which I developed strong skills in and a passion for typography, hand drawn styles, printing techniques and publishing design. On top of this I have also been designing as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator with most of my jobs consisting of identity work, posters and various print publications.

I would describe my style as organic, type-focused, structured yet very versatile, with an ability to easily be influenced both conceptually and stylistically by the subject matter of the design project at hand. Being very interested in semiotics, I am naturally highly aware of visual cultures both past and present across various disciplines and mediums.

Seeing as your job vacancy requires the same skills as the ones which I have acquired in my few years as a graphic designer, I would love to be considered for the post that you are offering. I am a keen learner and an independent individual and am looking to develop myself as a designer while at the same time utilizing my skills, services and passionate drive to help design as best as I can.
