I was commissioned to shoot two resorts in Saona and Samana, over seven days. The resorts were on the North and East coast of the Dominican Republic so it was a three and a four day shoot with a travel day in between.

The brief was to create beautiful lifestyle images of all aspects of both resorts.

The weather was a challenge, we had a small amount sunshine early in the morning but then rain and clouds rolled in every day, a typical Caribbean climate for the time of year.

To get around this we started early and lined up shots as close together as logistically possible in the morning, then either went inside or used creative lighting to fake sunshine/sunset etc. Whenever the sun reared its head we quickly switched gears and went outside to grab the light.

Working with a really fun group of people turned what was a lot of work into a lot of fun. We were able to deliver top-notch work while it was (at times) pouring and make it look like a tropical sunset.
