About me
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you to express my interest in your Junior Graphic Designer vacancy. I was excited to learn of your opening as I feel that it would be a huge opportunity for me to be a part of your creative team and gain invaluable experience as well as expanding and improving upon my graphic design skills.
I am a graduate from De Montfort University with a degree in Graphic Design. During my degree and experience at Exposure Magazine over three years, I have gained vital skills designing advertising and marketing material including logos, posters, product packaging and booklets, working collaboratively or individually.
I am proficient with industry standard Adobe software including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and also Microsoft Office.
I also have a working knowledge of preflighting files ready for print and the importance of organisation in order to work to a tight deadline.
I would say I am a creative all-rounder, but my main creative interests lie in branding, packaging and design for web and print. I also have a keen interest within illustration, typography and layout design from my experience at Exposure.
I love to experiment with new ideas by creating mood boards, sketching and putting my ideas down offline and pulling current trends within design into these ideas. By doing this I am able to create a fresh, effective and relevant outcome that is appropriate for both the company and customer. During my degree, being aware of current trends within both fashion and graphic design was very beneficial and had great impact on the projects that I completed.
