This project discusses the idea of adaption and research was undertaken into the evolution of animals, in particular their skin. How their skin has modified through generations to the changes in their habitats, defence against predators to how they attract a mate. Playing on the theory of Darwinism, the narrative of the collection investigates futuristic problems, such as the concerns in rising sea levels, will offer a sense that the designs will transform the wearer into an underwater-like wonder. Influencing not only the choices in fabric and imagery, further research was undertaken into the effects of bioluminescence and how this could be translated into a printing process. Delicate and intricate imagery has been a fundamental feature to investigate.
