About me
To whom it may concern,
Further to your advertised role on creativepool, I was excited to read of such an opportunity opening up and have attached my current CV for your consideration.
Currently in the position of Events and Community Executive for Manchester Science Partnerships (MSP), I am eager to build on the achievements and experience I have attained during my time in this role and am now actively looking for a new challenge. The Event Producer role appeals to me especially as I am looking for an opportunity to expand on my corporate events experience on a larger scale with the opportunity to work on a range of varied events. I believe my skills and ambition are an excellent match for this position and would value the opportunity to join your team.
My current role has provided me with a wealth of experience in event management and coordination from which I have been able to demonstrate both strong leadership skills and the ability to work creatively within a team. I have planned and executed a number of corporate events, ranging from high profile building launches to business exhibitions to mini festivals. My role is to oversee all aspects of each project which includes negotiation with venues and suppliers, budget reconciliation, logistics management, team staffing management and producing marketing material to name a few.
At MSP, I have project managed, promoted and co-ordinated a variety of events including:
- All events taking place on site at MSP ranging from networking lunches to full day exhibitions and business conferences.
- Various sizeable launch events including the MSP MedTech Launch, the Manchester Graphene Launch, the launch of Alderley Park, the launch of Citylabs and most recently, the launch of Health Innovation Manchester.
- Planning, executing and project managing a variety of customer engagement events such as:
-- The MSP Summer Festival which offered vintage stalls, live bands, garden games and food stalls to customers on the Science Park.
-- The MSP Football Tournament, a customer focused event which attracted over 200 attendees.
-- The planting of 20,000 Snowdrops in partnership with The National Trust which involved working with local primary schools to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.
I am motivated, resourceful and efficient with an aptitude for multitasking and time management. I understand the value of deadlines and goals and have a history of producing effective plans and initiatives to reach those. I am passionate about my work, demonstrating excellent communications and interpersonal skills along with appreciating the flexibility that is expected of such a role.
I feel confident that I possess the attributes you may be looking for and that I could prove myself to be an invaluable member of your events team. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to meet with you at your convenience to discuss my application further.
Kind Regards,
Sophie O'Connor
