ABOUT
Project Background
The Bacardi ‘Sound of Rum’ event brings together 350 bartenders from around the world. The event aims to inspire and influence the next generation of bartenders through an immersive music experience and embed the Bacardi brand into the world of cocktails.
The event - held in Berlin, was to a Caribbean theme which would integrate the company’s long & passionate history with the energetic and inclusive brand the company now stands for.
The Sleek Approach
Bringing the Bacardi high energy brand to this event was imperative.
We needed to consider:
Venue to align with the theme - the venue needed to be ‘Instagram-able’ and allow us to bring the Caribbean theme to life.
Party, not a performance - we wanted to ensure although we had different performances lined up the event remained as a party, not a performance as per the client brief.
Indoor & Outdoor event - the brief specified an indoor/outdoor venue for a mid-October event, we worked with the venue to provide warm heaters to bring the party outside.
Cultural differences - we were able to easily communicate and plan this event as our MD & Founder Jennifer is German-speaking and worked as Project Lead!
The party was held at Haubentaucher, a cultural hotspot in Berlin. The venue allowed for three large party spaces:
An arrival drinks reception where guests were held until most had arrived
The outdoor space was then revealed and included a heated swimming pool for attendees to use throughout the evening
The final event reveal was the indoor club for attendees to enjoy DJ sets
We brought in additional palm trees, plants, lighting, pool toys and further decor to bring the Caribbean theme fully to life for the event.
Collaborating with Sylvester Augustin we looked for 3 leading Dj’s that were influencers within their own right and had a large social media presence. Their sound needed to come together with the Caribbean theme and bring the immersive music experience that a Bacardi party is known for.
To enhance the experience even further, we brought in Caribbean inspired dancers to dance with the crowd and bring the energy and atmosphere to the next level.
Above all, the event was centred around Bacardi’s creative Caribbean themed cocktails.
