Dear Sir/ Madam,
I was given this website by Dan Hubbard, casting director at Hubbard Casting, who suggested that I should send my CV to you as I am looking for a job as a casting assistant. I recently completed a weeks work experience at Hubbard casting and am so keen to expand my knowledge and experience of the industry further. I currently work at Academy Films as a rep for their directors and though I have very much enjoyed my two years here, I now know that my passion for casting has been ignited and I am determined to get a permanent job in the casting industry.
As you will see from my CV I hail from a theatrical background, completing extensive theatre training at the Brit School before going on to earn a BA Hons in Theatre and Performance at the University of Leeds. Both educational ventures enabled me to develop and define my understanding of the professional acting industry from a performer's perspective. Working at Academy has allowed me to build on this understanding by giving me a foundation of knowledge into how a director works with casting directors and actors. I have run many of the casting sessions that we hold in our own casting suite at Academy, and have been encouraged by positive feedback from our directors who have commented that I am good at helping the actors feel at ease and give a good performance.
I have spoken to the owner of Academy who is incredibly supportive of my intended career move, and would be happy to give you a reference if needed.
