About me

PR │Writing │Communications │Content │Strategy

I have over 7 years of experience in the areas of PR, communications, event management and strategy. I am a professional storyteller, with an eye for detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Among my varied accomplishments, I have written press releases for national and regional press, both in Ireland and overseas and for a variety of clients including commercial, retail, B2B and podcasts.

In 2017, I developed a digital editorial strategy for the fashion and tourism destination, Kildare Village. In addition to researching and writing content, I optimized the delivery for SEO purposes. As a result, the website saw an increase in traffic with uptake in CTR. The new communications strategy was adopted by the company and integrated into the digital marketing team moving forward.

I hold a degree in English and Philosophy as well as a Higher Diploma in PR with Event Management. I have also undertaken studies in journalism and writing.

I am an adaptable writer with strengths in capturing the tone of voice as well as taking complex ideas and translating them into easy to digest content.

On a personal level, I could be noted as a bit of a nerd, I love pop culture, TV, movies and music - anything where strengths in storytelling are at the core. I have a penchant for documentaries and enjoy learning about cultural history and sociology.

When I am not delving into a documentary series, you might find me gagging at the eleganza on display on RuPaul's Drag Race or salivating over the latest episode of Bake Off.

I want to move forward as a leader, I wish to be a part of the development of our culture and positive change. I am driven and passionate, with open-mindedness. I care deeply about a variety of causes and issues and when not writing for others, I like to express my own thoughts in opinion piece essays and editorials.

My ambitious nature has led me to keep striving for more, I wish to make an impact on someone's life in a positive way.

Our stories, be they fictional or true life, journalism or op-ed, are what capture and shape the history books and so impact our future and I want to be a part of that.

Now for the very practical and boring: I am based in Ireland at present but plan to relocate to the UK in the not too distant future, ideally with two shots of vaccination. I hope to find myself in the beautiful South West, potentially the creatively diverse Bristol.

In the interim, I am available to work remotely. I am confident in my abilities to work with autonomy though I also love a sense of collaboration. Work culture is incredibly important to me and I like to be a part of cultivating positivity and wellness.

And as I am Irish, I like to try to have a bit of craic along the way.

Namaste,

Siobhan.
