"Coffee and Poetry" is a film that describes the loneliness of an old man living in the
UK, who has lived there for a long time but, nevertheless, has formed no emotional
bonds with people who don't speak his native language. Suddenly, his life seems to
change when he meets a young girl. The communication between them flows instantly;
he feels delighted to be with someone who understands his needs and shares his
profession. But it is just an illusion, the young person moves on with her life, enjoying
time with her friends, unaware that the old man sinks into a profound feeling of desolation, leaving him devastated.
