ABOUT

Royal Mail wanted to demonstrate just how easily your online identity can be stolen, putting large chunks of your personal data at risk. Sometimes what you see on screen looks like you, but isn’t you. The solution was to design a word mark, then set about de-constructing it enough to remain legible, but to look “not quite right”. Removing data by mimicking paper shredding, bit by bit, data was stolen, whilst ensuring the overall sense of legibility remained. More difficult than it looks. More time consuming than it looks. The final word mark was used in print, social media and end title sequences.
