Sons of Alpha Centauri are a cult phenomenon from Kent in the South East of the UK. To celebrate the second single from their release Continuum they wanted to send the iconic U475 Black Widow (which resides just off the cost of Strood where the studio they recorded in is based) to space. Having worked with the band on numerous live events in the past I jumped at the chance to attempt to do this for them - with zero budget! Calling on friends and colleagues I was able to write a script that included references to and shots from locations important to the band meaning their home county audience would find plenty of easter eggs. We shot the whole thing at Connets Farm on the North coast of the Isle of Sheppey, now home to some of the band as well as their rehearsal space and in view of the iconic Red Sands Forts which also feature heavily in their visual output throughout the years.
