Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you to apply for the position of Account Manager stated above. I am currently working as a Business Development Specialist at the company CEB, a research and advisory company providing services to Senior Executives across different functions (CFOs, CIOs, CMOs, CHROs, CCOs). My first role at CEB included managing with a business partner a portfolio of clients and new business by ensuring the delivery of the different projects to our client base such as Benchmarking, Diagnostics, presentations of the web portal, liaising the clients with our experts in the programs we were serving and guiding the implementation of best practice solutions. For the new business side, I often had to find innovative and creative ways to reach out to a large audience of executives in a difficult market (Benelux and Nordics) often reluctant in engaging with partners outside their geographical region. My knowledge of the market allowed my partnership to grow the region in our product, achieving 104% of CV goal last year by leveraging cross sell opportunities as well as new business. The relationship building skills and consultative selling skills have been extremely useful to allow this to happen in this specific market region. At the beginning of this year, I moved into a full business development role for our products in Sales, Marketing and Communication. I had to build a new pipeline from scratch but I also had to apply our own research in my day to day job. The Challenger approach, a research published by CEB in 2008, was not only part of our product in our Sales practice but also an approach which I took onboard internally to apply within my day to day job. The challenger approach is mainly looking at how in a complex selling environment, the best sellers disturb the current thinking of their customer by acting more like consultants and use consultative skills. This unique set of skills not only from a job perspective but also from a product and content perspective would put me in a good position to be a successful candidate for this role. My academic background in Photography and Art History, pushed my creative thinking constantly and allowed me to have the opportunity to organise conferences, present lectures, teach students and have a constant ability to changing environment (from a practical degree to a theoretical master before working within management consultancy). I am enthusiastic, self-motivated and a creative minded person who is constantly looking for challenges. This role would provide me with the opportunity to develop my skills in account management even further especially with the delivery of RFPs within the marketing sphere, I feel confident that my current set of skills would support and enhance your team.
