ABOUT
It so happens that in Bulgarian a reasonable amount of words—mostly adverbs and adjectives—contain the letters O, R, E, and O (О, Р, Е and O in Bulgarian) in that exact order while not necessarily immediately one after the other. When tasked to come up with local content for the PLAY WITH OREO platform, this fact came in handy.
A fairly exhaustive database of Oreo words was compiled and divided into four categories: words featuring OREO, words containing ORE+O or O+REO or OR+EO, words with O+RE+O, OR+E+O, or O+R+EO, and words containing O+R+E+O. Next a simple app was developed for the Facebook tab of OREO Bulgaria in which users could input Oreo words. (Please note the screenshots on the right are an English-language adaptation of the original app interface.) Entries were checked against the database and either approved or rejected. Depending on which word category the successful entry belonged to, it would fetch a different number of points which were actually… Oreo cookies. Once the contestants had scored at least six Oreos, they were allowed to cash in on them at any time.
The project not only was a massive success with a niche and possibly nerdish crowd but also attracted a number of self-confessed Oreo first-timers.
