ABOUT

My collaboration with Movement 21, a Bulgarian political party from the left part of the spectrum, and its charismatic leader, Ms Tatyana Doncheva, includes three TV campaigns covering three very different types of elections.

Featured first is the most recent commercial for the presidential elections of 2016. While Ms Doncheva did not make it to the second round, the campaign garnered much attention in both political and advertising circles. It is probably also interesting to compare this latest installment to the earlier campaigns below – and witness how the work became more and more daring with each project as the relationship between the client and the agency evolved.

The second video is a commercial for the municipal elections of 2015, my sophomore project with Movement 21. It is based on the wordplay between the name of the party and ‘twenty-one’, a basketball-derived game popular in Bulgaria. It is played at one court end by one or more contestants who take turns in shooting free throws from the side markings of the paint. The sketches under the video illustrate the outdoor and print visuals that were supposed to support the TV campaign but were unfortunately never produced.

Last but not least is the first salvo in the long and fruitful cooperation with Movement 21 – the TV commercial for the general elections of 2014 which announced the arrival of the new party and Ms Doncheva, the self-proclaimed ‘only man of Bulgarian politics’.
