ABOUT

The Maids is a theatre production of Jean Genet’s play, directed by me for the National Turkish Theatre in Skopje in 2023.
The play explores power, class, identity and the complex relationship between two maids and their mistress. Through role-playing and shifting identities, it examines the tension between submission and rebellion, revealing how desire, resentment and dependency become intertwined.
As director, I led the artistic interpretation of the text, worked with the cast on character development and performance, and coordinated with the creative team to bring the production to the stage.
