Dear hiring manager,
As a project manager for the past three years I've had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients ranging from household names such as Nike and Jordan to small film production companies specialising in ads that centre justice and equality. Although each project was radically different, bringing me into contact with a wide cross-section of society. This role perfectly combines my skill set, previous experience. With the success of a project contingent on numerous smaller processes, it was my responsibility to ensure everyone was able to work to the best of their ability providing clear guidelines, project roadmaps and direction when necessary. I updated work processes by introducing tools such as Slack and Asana as well as grouping together and managing freelancers with similar skill sets. These tools proved instrumental in tracking project processes and fostering effective regular communication between remote and internal teams. I was, as a result, able to manage project delivery expectations accurately in real time and relay information back to the client.
Overseeing projects from start to finish budget management is a key process I've undertaken many times. At both ON ROAD and The Othxr I created budget breakdowns matching agency time with freelancer rates, handling all production costs including venue acquisition and respondent fees. I used a combination of Excel and Xero to keep track of expenses and production costs. I also administered freelancer rates and hours including SOW's, purchase orders, drawing up guidelines for production and transcribing. Being a confident communicator has allowed me to lead briefs, pitch effectively when required and the ability to accurately convey the needs of global brands, social enterprises and emerging start-ups to creative design teams and senior management alike. As the Project Lead at ON ROAD I have led many multimedia research briefs often including a website, video, quantitative and qualitative research for leading sports brands such as Nike, Converse and Jordan. As the main point of contact for both the client and internal teams I am confident in handling production scheduling to tight deadlines. Using a mixture of recorded audio from interviews, task feedback and photography I created profiles with easily digestible biographies to present to the client as a key reference point during the project. After production I arranged internal de-briefs and with the support of lead researcher, presented the key findings to the strategy and creative teams directly to the client. I was also responsible for project reconciliation, working closely with the head of visual and finance.
Innovation and creativity is something I aim to bring to every role and I would relish the opportunity to work on a exciting project with an emphasis on creating for tomorrow.
