ABOUT
I was never one of those who can be defined as religious.
Having spent 12 years of my education in a college of priests, I think it helped me more to clearly distinguish the miseries of the institutions that promote love of God, than to approach any spiritual path.
In fact, the word god is a verb that usually comes out of my mouth in only very precise situations, almost all related to soccer.
A final round of penalties, where my team teeters between sports glory and an avalanche of painful memes is a good example in which I usually invoke their presence.
Because a god, whatever his belief, to most people represents that. The figure of something or someone to demand a better destiny than we are willing to accept, if only for a moment.
That is why Diego Armando Maradona is the one who best represents the figure of God for many of the Argentines.
Because nobody fulfilled our desires in a more complete way and with so much magic at some point in our lives, and nobody helped to twist the fate of our punished country more, if not for ephemeral 90 minutes.
I have not visited a church for many years, but as a good Argentinian and football fan I am, having known the room where this god surely imagined between sleep and sleep, many of those goals that in time became wishes fulfilled by millions of Argentines, is the closest thing to a supernatural experience that ever lived.
To enjoy, here are these 10 photos that I share with all of you.
Today transformed into a museum, and a few blocks from the temple that saw him debut, the space where he lived, grew and began to become immortal D10S, at the happiest time of his life.
With you the house of God.
Amen.
