ABOUT
The city of Buenos Aires does not only represent for Latin America the largest cultural plaza on the continent in commercial terms, with a fabulous artistic proposal that covers all disciplines. At the suburban level, it grows exponentially, with street artists moving to the rhythm of the city through each of its corners.
With the aim of delving a bit into the roots of a space full of tireless and talented survivors, an audiovisual proposal called "Pampa and La Vía" was born, seeking to discover small anonymous stories of characters who walk their art on the city roads.
The field of action is the subway cars, in particular the stations of its enormous underground interweave that houses a giant group of urban artists that in recent years has multiplied by hundreds of miles, with the arrival of immigrants from all latitudes, especially from the rest of South America.
Most musicians, many of them find in this place a specially cared shelter to move in a more organized way, isolated from inclement weather and insecurities typical of a large city. A very well-structured internal regulation allows them to present in a certain order throughout the day and night, without invading their own spaces, nor saturating a dynamic and heterogeneous audience that has normalized their presence in an amazing way.
Crossing a whole wagon with joy enjoying the bars of great musical successes, is a common scene that accompanies the movements of the entire city through this popular means of transport.
Spectators are not lacking. With a mass of 1,360,000 passengers using any of the 6 subway lines per day with an estimated frequency of 3 minutes between rush hour trains, the ticket office is almost always full.
The artistic offer that you can find is extremely varied.
Actors, contortionists, jugglers, mimes, clowns, comedians, dancers and of course musicians of all rhythms and colors coexist there expressing their joys, sorrows, loves, passions and follies.
But uprooting is undoubtedly the feeling that rules there, with men and women far from their lands crossed by a feeling that in this audiovisual short film found in tango the ideal language to express it and in Mariana the protagonist to transmit an experience that This soul tango shares each day with passengers who stop their routines for a moment to enjoy their dance.
This is her story. Give it play and let's dance.
