ABOUT
One fine day, author Martin Webb got in touch. He had written a new book and was ready for launch. But first, he needed some very loud artwork to make it standout on bookshelves instore. Cue me.
Previously he’d written articles for the Telegraph and hosted a TV series on Channel 4. Now it was time to enter the murky world of crime-fiction.
Martin pitched the synopsis to me. A gritty crime-fiction drama set between Islington, London and the seedy underworld of Brighton, which follows the adventures of wannabe gangster Buster Brett and top dog Billy Murphy.
Martin has a history of setting up pubs and clubs in London and Brighton, as well as experience of working in the police force, so a big pot of source material for Martin to dip into and give the book an accurate perspective.
After hearing the essence of the story, I very much got the vibes of Guy Ritchie meets Irvine Welsh (both of whom I am a fan of) and I wanted a piece of the action.
Read more about it on my website in the Case Studies section.
