Dear Sir/Madame,
I would love the opportunity to join your creative team within the role advertised. The role sounds extremely interesting and perfect for my ambitions and desires, as I wish to take the next step in my career.
I currently work for a large audio visual company, Smart AV, working as their warehouse supervisor; however my background and heart lie with video and media production.
While working for Smart I have expanded my knowledge of AV equipment, while also taking on the reasonability of running the warehouse, including the preparation of kit for high end, VIP clients such as Hugo Boss, Reebok and Christian Dior .
I have also prepped and installed the last three BAFTA award shows as the lead technician for Smart, working backstage, green room, photo room and VIP area throughout the show.
While also working within the audio visual industry, I have created several pieces of content for Smart, including a pixel perfect video for an LED Demo at the Farnborough Airshow and several videos for the company's website.
During this time, I have also created and self-funded my own films, as writer, director, producer and editor. Ranging from short films to experimental films; including my political experimental film Beautiful War, which won best experimental film at the Los Angeles New Wave Film Festival.
I have also produced several other films within the independent scene, including a web series pilot.
To help showcase my films, I also manage my own YouTube and Vimeo accounts, manage and design my own marketing campaigns for my short films, including the creation of one sheets using Adobe Photoshop and trailers/extras via Adobe Premier Pro.
I now wish to step away from the audio visual industry, using my skillset and experience of video and media production to help establish myself within the creative/media industry.
I feel I have the experience, knowledge and passion to carry out the role you're advertising to the highest standard, with a goal of working myself up within your company and building a career within your industry.
