ABOUT
Veering on the side of traditional art practice, rather than illustration, these works are an exploration of all things celestial. As a self-confessed space nerd I started this project as a way to learn more about the solar system and universe, through the creation of images and designs with the stars in mind.
As with all my other work, these pieces are completed on paper, using acrylic paints. Some of the smaller pieces were made with recycled cloth paper, which gives a more rustic, textured finish.
The lead artwork in this gallery (an A3 painting of the Abell 370 galaxy cluster) was picked up by NASA and featured on the NASA Hubble Twitter feed in August of this year. I shared the painting as part of the #SpotHubble initiative - a social media campaign which encouraged followers to engage with the space agency and share art or experiences that they may have taken inspiration from.
