Dear Sir/Madam,
Mine is a search not only for a new position but also for a role that will be the foundation of a long and productive career.
I am a creative individual interested in all genres of literature and accustomed to promoting awareness of issues in the UK through online marketing campaigns for goods and services to the Great British consumer.
Originally hired as a content writer, I am a young professional who has gained experience in my current employment that is beyond my years. I have held the position of Website Content Manager at Broadplace Advertising Ltd. for 18 months.
Building upon my First Class Honours degree from Brunel University in West London where I completed a BA in Creative Writing in 2010, I have put the theory of my studies into practice and have learnt how to work effectively in a professional environment, regularly demonstrating my motivation, organisation and support to the company. I am manager to a small pool of in-house writers, liaison to numerous freelance writers and translators and the contact for those seeking work experience opportunities via the local Jobcentre Plus.
Currently, the majority of my day is spent digitally proofreading, editing, checking for plagiarism, approving all work returned from writers and safeguarding the company brand and image. As such, my understanding of expectations and restrictions to formatting is precise, since the bulk of articles are subject to online search engine optimisation (SEO) specifics. I would be interested to learn what directions the employer is taking in the digital market, as I recognise the importance for brands to communicate with their customers. This is not only in terms of products and services they offer but also through social interactions on social media sites and mobile platforms.
My reading skills are excellent, with a solid grasp of English spelling and grammar, and my attention to detail is good. What's more, my own writing skills are first-rate and I have experience in writing for several different mediums, for example my essays and dissertation while at university, and now articles, blog posts, newsletters, press releases, product descriptions and static website content in the workplace.
I work well with colleagues at any level of the business, from interns to the Director, and also perform well working independently. I am very keen to become involved with this role as I perceive it to be an interesting environment where people are highly valued for the top quality work that they produce. Forever enjoying challenges, I am eager to acquire new skills and feel that this opportunity would further provide diverse knowledge, understanding and advice within a business setting where I can showcase my abilities and play to my natural strengths.
