ABOUT

Brief

The chance to carry the Olympic torch is a real once-in-a-lifetime stuff. So how could we squeeze the most social capital out of this unique opportunity, allowing Coke to engage UK teens and keep them engaged in the run-up to 2012?

Solution

We enabled the public to nominate 'future flames' to get their '15 minutes of fame', putting teens at the heart of the social celebrations. High-achieving nominees could appeal for votes and spread the word through their social networks, whilst the rest of the public could explore, celebrate and vote for their favourites.

Results

The site received over 486,931 unique visitors, who interacted with 10,035 nominations, and generated 11.2 million social impressions (the number of Likes and Shares seen by Facebook users). In 2012, 1000 of the most deserving young 'Future Flames' of Britain carried the Olympic torch.
