Hi!
I'm Sam Marshall, a passionate designer with an enthusiasm for Technology. I'm the sort of person who gets excited over new technologies or methods of doing things (though I'm equally excited, geeky some would call it, about old technology too - especially steam engines and letterpress machines). I started working with digital design fairly early, when I discovered computer programming at 15. This lead to markup, such as HTML and CSS, and during University and since I have worked with websites and set up Wordpress as a CMS numerous times.
My career goals are essentially to find somewhere I can advance and grow myself, somewhere I can get passionate about my work and really engage with it and the people I'm working on it with.
I've managed to keep myself busy while I've been looking for work, and I've found a variety of tasks for myself. For example, I volunteer two days a week in Manchester centre, for a Commercial Interior Design and Branding company, where I help with web design, branding, layout and general design needs. I've also been working on updates for my website, my own typeface, and I'm writing a novel for National Novel Writing Month.
On top of this, I do a lot of work for family. Luckily for me, my dad is a photographer - so often he'll either need some design work himself or his clients will need some. I've set up countless wordpress installs, tweaked many themes and even made one of my own (though I'm a little rusty at this, it was a few years ago), and am not only into web design but hand-making websites in HTML4-5 and CSS2-3. I experiment with other computing things too, and though not entirely relevant it does mean I'm pretty good with computers, if I do say so myself.
